Tom Sooter - Compliance

Tom Sooter grew up in the San Fernando Valley enjoying the surrounding hillside trails and creeks with his childhood friends. His family spent weekends hiking, motorcycle riding, and camping in the Angeles National Forest, the Mojave Desert, and the beaches of Southern and Central California.

In 1989 Tom graduated from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Marketing before earning his MBA from Pepperdine University. He spent the next 30 years working in Sales, Marketing and Business Development for UPS.

In 2009 Tom and his wife, Kelly, bought their home in Cayucos where Tom had spent time as a 16-year-old with his family. Tom fell in love with the beauty and serenity of the small coastal town and dreamed of living there someday.

Tom and Kelly have two grown children, Matthew and Melissa, and a grandchild, Ellie.

Since retiring, Tom has gotten involved in the community as a Cayucos Citizens’ Advisory Council representative, Lions Club member, and Cayucos Land Conservancy Board Member.  Tom looks forward to using his many years of experience in Business and Management to help the Cayucos Land Conservancy fulfill its important mission of preserving and expanding the green belt surrounding Cayucos for generations to come.
