Carol Warden - Vice President (Board Development)
Carol was in awe when she visited Cayucos in 2018. “How did these beautiful Estero Bluffs escape development?!” She did not find out until she moved to Morro Bay in 2021 and learned about CLC. The opportunity to join CLC’s board and support its ongoing efforts to preserve the local landscape aligns with her lifelong passion.
Carol developed a love of nature at an early age. She grew up in southern California and earned her B.A. and M.A. in History from UCSB. An interest in environmental history included research into the oil industry’s early activities in the Cayucos area, but several decades would pass before she returned to the Central Coast. During the intervening years, Carol worked in the conservation non-profit sector, including The Nature Conservancy and Audubon. Much of this work involved capacity building for local and regional conservation efforts. Drawing upon this experience to support CLC feels like coming home.
